What is the best strategy to sell your industry potatoes? That is the central question in a new element adjoining the annual pool price research I have conducted for Dutch magazine Boerderij. Besides the traditional Dutch pooling strategy, five different strategies are compared to determine which has the highest potential. The result of the research is published on over 20 pages in Boerderij magazine of tomorrow.

Early September, one of my customers asked me whether I was interested in a big project: collecting the technical details of all tractors available on the Benelux market. After a brief meeting I contacted all importers and started collecting the data. Now, just after Agritechnica it’s time to add the last details of the newly introduced models and finalise the catalogue ‘Landbouwtrekkers 2014’. The catalogue will contain almost 160 different tractors of 25 brands.

Last week, Boerderij number 1 was published featuring an over 50 pages enclosure about this year’s harvest. This so-called ‘Harvest Edition’ contains 29 different balances of arable crops. Q-rious Marketing & Communication contributed to the Harvest Edition with 11 balances.

Cover Boerderij Akkerbouw no. 47, 20 augustus. Aardappelpoolprijzen 2012-'13After a lead time of several weeks and tens of hours spent, the potato pool results were published in Dutch magazine Boerderij today. It is the 20th time in a row that Boerderij publishes these results.

The majority of the 18 page article was compiled and written by me. The article is not only about prices and price analyses, it also provides in depth information about market and price development of the 202 potato yield as well as background information of the trading companies.

IMG_4062This week I was lucky to spend my time on various projects. Most of my time was consumed by the ‘potato pool pricing’ project for Dutch magazine Boerderij. The meetings with potato trading companies proved to be very interesting and educational. A new customer asked me to do a test with brine sprayers for one of its magazines. Considering the warm weather and ultra-high temperatures (up to 37 degrees Celsius!), testing brine sprayers for de-icing roads was rather funny and peculiar! The article can be seen here (in Dutch only)
